Incub8™ is a next-generation multiwell microelectrode array (MEA) system designed to deliver deeper insight from every experiment by combining electrophysiology and optical access (live-cell imaging) simultaneously. By capturing functional and morphological data simultaneously, researchers can cross-validate results, uncover more complete cellular insights, and generate more predictive, translatable data while reducing the need for parallel experiments. This integrated approach not only strengthens scientific conclusions, but also streamlines workflows, reduces reagent usage, and lowers overall experimental cost.

Built for real-world lab environments, Incub8 is the only multiwell MEA system that records directly inside a humidified CO₂ incubator, preserving stable conditions and eliminating disruptions that can introduce variability. With support for 24- and 96-well plates and scalability up to 768 simultaneous samples, it enables high-throughput screening without compromising data quality. Its flexible, compact design also supports use on the benchtop or under a microscope, while advanced software with barcode-based traceability ensures data integrity and reproducibility in even the most demanding workflows.

Record from Inside a Humidified CO₂ Incubator

Incub8 enables electrophysiological recordings directly inside a humidified CO incubator, eliminating the need to transfer samples between environments. By maintaining stable temperature, humidity, and gas conditions throughout the experiment, the system preserves cell integrity and minimizes variability introduced by environmental changes.

This results in more reproducible, physiologically relevant data with higher predictive value. For long-term or sensitive cultures, stable conditions reduce experimental noise and the need for additional replicates, helping you generate reliable data more efficiently.

Incub8 is designed for scalable throughput, supporting both 24- and 96-well plate formats and enabling up to eight headstages to be linked simultaneously. This allows you to record from up to 768 samples in parallel, making it ideal for high-throughput screening and large-scale studies.

Running all samples under identical environmental conditions improves consistency and reproducibility across datasets. At the same time, the system’s compact footprint makes it easy to scale within standard incubators without increasing your lab footprint.

Incub8-Screen Software

Incub8-Screen software is designed to support both standard and complex workflows, from experiment setup through data analysis. With automated routines for signal detection, quantification, and visualization, users can quickly move from acquisition to insight.

Accessories that Enhance Environmental Control in Your Experiments

  • EnviroKit Active Heating Plates & CO₂ Control Modules: Maintain controlled environmental conditions for experiments conducted outside the incubator.
  • AccuTemp Stabilizer Passive Heating Plates: Designed for use inside the incubator, these plates reduce temperature variation across the plate to below 0.5°C, ensuring consistent and stable conditions for all samples. This minimizes edge effects and improves data quality through more precise temperature control.
  • Plates: Incub8 multiwell plates are optimized for optical measurements, enabling seamless combination of electrophysiology and imaging in a single experiment.
  • Incub8-VariPlate Base Adapter: While Incub8 plates are optimized for optical workflows, the included adapter allows the headstage to be used with standard, commercially available MEA plates.
